Looking for a fun and unique way to spend time with your gal pals? Why not try something a little different and have a girls' day out that is sure to bring a smile to everyone's face!
All you need is a board, some paint, ribbon and this free template, and you're all set!
Here are the supplies we used:
- -5 1/2" Fence Board - this is just what we had on hand. You can use any kind of board you choose! If you use our template, just be sure your board is wide enough to accommodate it. Or, you could resize the template to fit your board. I found these on Amazon. They're a little narrow, but you could still making it work by re-sizing your template, or just moving it over a little bit.
-
-Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint, Semi-Gloss Clear - any kind of clear coat will do. I just went with the least expensive that I could find on Amazon. You need a clear coat on the wooden board to keep it from soaking up all your paint.
-
Bunny Template - you can get this through this link or draw and cut out your own. The hardest part of making this template was getting the bunny ears right.😅
- White Charcoal Pencils - this is totally optional. We used the white pencils just so the lines show up better when you trace around the template.
- -Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint in Antique White - this is what most of us used, but any color would work. Some of our guests used pastel and even added their own unique touches, like polka dots or flowers.
- 1" Foam Paint Brushes - some of us also used a small art brush to get around the edges, but if you're careful, you can probably do it using only the foam brush.
Here are the steps:
I really meant to make a video, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm still planning on it though, so you can find it on my YouTube channel in a few days.
- Cut and sand your boards. (If you use pre-cut boards, they should be nice and smooth straight out of the package.)
- Spray clear coat onto the side of the board you plan to paint.
- Once clear coat is dry, trace around your template.
- Fill in your bunny outline with antique white paint or color of choice.
- Add a neck ribbon for a splash of color.
And that's all you need for a fun girls' project!
We had something unexpected to come up and I didn't even get my house cleaned before our get-together. But we had fun anyway!
My daughter made a charcuterie board and some pink lemonade punch, and some blondies. Food, friendship and laughter. It doesn't get much better than that!
